My Little Pony Dating Sim My Little Pony Dating Sim

Rated 4 / 5 stars September 7, 2011

Decent

Not too bad there. Though I think you got Twilight's character a tad bit off. I don't think she'd go down that easy. I think hitting the hay with her should have been much harder, then again I'm pro at dating sims, especially when it comes to anything furry.

I'd have given a 10, but I had to knock a point off for the above infraction as well as there not being enough varied responses and poses... if you know what I mean. I'm sure you do as the dating sim displayed here shows we have fairly similar tastes. I look forward to a sequel with more content and more ponies... lots and lots more ponies.

P.S. I watch and enjoy the show, but I elohel'd at this. Thanks for the laugh. I needed one today. :P I'd be a raging hater, but it isn't my style, and I see you're getting enough as it is. :(

Stickman91 responds:

In retrospect, I wish I had done more touch-ups on this game; the more I think about it, the more I feel like this thing is just a beta release. I definitely could've put more effort into the response variety, and the poses... well, you know. On top of that, the scenarios are pretty cheesy, and the audio is just plain cliche for a dating simulator.

However, you'll be elated to know that a sequel IS in the works, and that it will be everything this game wasn't. It'll have more ponies (lots and lots more!), more original scenarios, better writing, smoother animation... just you wait and see! I'll be sure to keep your criticisms in mind throughout development; thanks for the feedback!

Swept to the End Swept to the End

Very good

Like Lamazar1, I found this from MaestroRage's favorites list.

Everything being done with silhouettes added to the mood you were trying to set. My only critique is would've liked the axe swing to be [S]. It makes more sense as it hits the middle area, while the back kick would be better on [A].

There's not much else to add that hasn't been said I'm sure. Just wanted to say this is well done.

Nice to listen to

I started listening to this while I was coding various things. A few minutes later I realized this had repeated quite a few times. It's fairly pleasant to listen to for some reason. I'm imagining someone roaming around and getting into trouble.

The Meat Circus from Psychonauts also comes to mind. Good job on this, everything blended really well.

The Nintendo Concerto (Part 8) The Nintendo Concerto (Part 8)

Not bad

I like it, I'm not really into piano pieces like this, but it's still not bad. Though you call it Nintendo Concerto when half of these aren't Nintendo. I figured it's games that appeared on a Nintendo console, but U.N. Owen Was Her is not even close. Regardless, you did well with this. Good job.

Grasslands at Dusk Grasslands at Dusk

Wow, it's all I can say.

This is crazy good and a very calming piece to listen to.
At first I was going to give it a 9 because of the drums? (sorry, I'm not good at recognizing sounds) starting at 0:32. At first they seemed really intrusive, but as it went on, they were really nice and I couldn't imagine this being as good without them. Definitely felt like they were coming from a different source altogether.
